A Jejemon Cake For Birthday

A jejemon cake for birthday?

genefratt

It's my youngest daughter's birthday today and she especially requested a jejemon cake. As a mom living far away from them, I was a little bit curious on what a jejemon is. I've heard so much about this from my kids a month ago but don't understand why even a seven year old daughter would even want to be part of this craze. So I turned my way and surf down the internet to search for an answer and this is what urbandictionary.com has to say:

1) Usually seen around social networking sites such as Friendster and Multiply, jejemons are individuals with low IQs who spread around their idiocy on the web by tYpFing LyK diZS jejejeje, making all people viewing their profile raise their eyebrows out of annoyance. Normal people like you and me must take a Bachelor of Arts in Jejetyping in order to understand said individuals, as deciphering their text would cause a lot of frustration and hair pulling. CAUTION: THESE INDIVIDUALS ARE BREEDING! THEY CAN BE SEEN WRECKING GRAMMATICAL HAVOC ON FACEBOOK TOO!

2) Jejemons are not just confined to trying-hard Filipino gangsters and emos. A Jejemon can also include a variety of Latino-Hispanic fags who enjoy typing "jejejejeje" in a wider context, much to the disdain of their opponents in an internet MMORPG game such as Ragnarok and DOTA.

3) Basically anyone with a low tolerance in correct punctuation, syntax and grammar. Jejemons are usually hated or hunted down by Jejebusters or the grammar nazi to eradicate their grammatical ways.

Anyway, I found it so funny but I realized that satisfying their own childhood desire would mean something good to them. The Jejemon cake that she requested would be better looking if decorated using The Cake Decorator's Motif Bible: 150 Fabulous Fondant Designs with Easy-to-Follow Charts and Photographs.

Birthday Bash, Do We Need It Or Just A Simple Note Will Do?

Hello?!? a high-pitched voice coming from the other line on my phone lingered in my ear this morning. That's my daughter, she can't express her feeling while listening to me.

It just remind me once again that on Friday will be her 7th birthday!

Every Year on Your Birthday

I wish to be physically there to celebrate this birthday with her. Five days back was her brother's birthday too. For years and years we've been there for them giving away birthday bash.

Chocolate Fudge Birthday Cake 7"

This time, I can only afford to blow away just one simple note to say: You're loved. Being not been there for quite a time does not mean you don't hold a piece in my heart.

Here's my wishful hope for you to stay as sweet and lovely as you are now. Have a blissful health, more wealth and a sound spirit!

Happy Birthday to You!

Sweets, Coffee and Mmmm... Music

Sweets Saturday on rainy UAE. I can’t help but just stayed at home and tried to contain myself with sweet moments…

Do you like sweets? Do you know that Christmas and Sweets go together like Santa and reindeer? That is why even if its raining outside I tried to make my own mouth watering candies .

So irresistible yema balls, sugarcoated nuts and squash pastillas. I like them apart from the decade loved chocolates and milk bars.

Have you tried it at home? Making candies to share with family or to give as gift has become customary for any holidays. Candies add fun touch to any event. They have become an intrinsic part of many holiday celebrations. Remember the candy you used to buy growing up? Buy them now from Candy.com

One thing that goes along with sweets is coffee. brrrr. I just finished my 3rd cup of Green Mountain Coffee K-Cups while surfing the net. I love it. Candies and coffee while listening to my favorite station online...Live365 has Jazz Stations for you! Simply good combination on rainy days.

Wind Beneath My Wings

It's always nice to cherish wedding anniversaries. It holds an unexplainable joy in every couple's heart having to pass through significant trials of ups and downs together.

Today is our 17th wedding anniversary as stated on the paper. A simple yet well celebrated marriage vow was actually held on July. Yet we still make it a point to celebrate what has been written on paper. It's a typographical error and we didn't bother to correct it. My husband and I agreed to some point to just leave it like that. After all celebrating two wedding anniversary dates in a year is awesome.

My kids woke me up via an overseas call today just to greet me. There's no such happiness that I can ever link or backlink their confidence, trust and love.

So to keep the family spirit alive in both places, we decided to cook any dish with noodles (pansit). My kids told me they have prepared spaghetti and I prepared sotanghon. We believe that having any noodle dish on special occasion such as this would make any relationship more stronger and happier.

As an expat mum being away from your family is not a hindrance to keep the communication line open. Every celebration means love and affection. And a simple gesture of calling via internet or phone expressing how much they care for you ... just enough to have blown my heart away.
Definitely... My family, my life, my love, and always the wind beneath my wings!

Christmas.... would never be the same

It's Christmas around the World Wide Web--and it's Christmas at Pinay Expat Blogger too --let's celebrate! May God's love and happiness surround us and our family; may we be filled with His love and peace. May He reign supreme in our hearts during this Christmas season!

It's just so sad that I have a bitter feeling about Christmas at this point in time. It's half past one in the morning and still am lying awake. I can't help but feel so sorry about myself Not only because I am far from my kids but i'ts almost five years now since I didn't celebrate this season with them... poor mama

It reminds me again how I cooked for them homemade macaroni salad in green and red kaong, spaghetti in seafood and mushroom sauce, crispy pata, of course my specialty puto cake and macaroons which my kids would always request.

Everything happen for a reason and I believe that at the end of each storm, there's always a rainbow...!
Have a blessed Christmas to all of us..
