Movies to Watch With an Enemy - GT

My better late than never Movie Thursday entry finally is here. Yesterday was a bit of fun being able to cook different menus for a housemate's birthday. Actually I can't think of any particular movie to watch with an enemy. For now, what overwhelms me is the fact that we should share love to anyone that we meet. As Miss Kris Aquino would always say "love, love, love". Peace always gives us a sense of belonging.



Hotel Rwanda has always been one of my favorite movies. A 2004 drama film directed by Terry Jorge based on real life events in Rwanda, starring Don Cheadle. This is a true story of a hotel manager who was able to save more than 1200 lives during the Rwandan genocide. The film which has been called an African "Schindler's list, exploring political corruption, genocide and repercussions of violence.

Being an independent film, it also won nominations on multiple awards including Academy award for best actor, best supporting actress and best original screenplay. As the whole world closed its eyes to this crisis, Paul Rusesabagina, a hotel manager in Rwanda, opened his heart to prove that human spirit can make us stronger amidst all violence.

There you go, make love not war, this is a very disturbing film to share with anybody that will surely open a new world of peace with your friend,brother or sister and that with your enemy. Hope you like my pick for this week here at Girls Talk! with Beauty Queen Gene every Thursday.

GT: Movies to Watch With Your Husband

Nothing beats a moment shared while watching a film as you snuggle up with your loved ones in cinema or at home. A film both funny with a love story plot in between is the movie that I will surely recommend to watch with my husband. For eighteen years of being married together definitely I know what motivates him and what would make him dismay. Laugh your way out together or fall in love as you try to watch the following films.

• "Meet the Parents" starring Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller is a fantastic mix of casting and intellectual blend of comedy. It's one of the most entertaining films in 2000.

• "Shirley Valentine" is another romantic film that you can watch over and over again. You will get in love with Pauline Collins, Tom Conti and Bernard Hill.

• "When Harry Met Sally" is a wonderful romantic movie starring Meg Ryan, Billy Crystal and Carrie Fisher. A great film focused on affairs that eventually blossomed out of friendship. Wow this movie has hit me to the bone!

You may as well share a weepy movie or romantic drama with a twist of comedy with your hubby. Whatever your choice of film to share with him, make sure that you will have a grand time watching together. By the way, what's your movie pick? The truth is I don't like much watching movies. In fact even at home when my husband played a DVD of any movie, you bet I always fall asleep, without finishing any film. huh?!?
Lately thanks goodness to the innovation, I can watch part or portion of it through online...



Cats and Dogs is a must-see this summer. A warner brother production yet to be released. I would definitely share this movie to my friends. An equally funky and zaniest film that even kids would love!
It's a continuing battle of cats and dogs for control of the earth. Hope they won't dominate the planet at all! hahaha.
